Award Programs

Violet Richardson Award
The Kachinas give a cash award annually to a high school girl between the age of 14 and 17 who is involved in serving her community as a volunteer.  A matching award is also given to the recipient's charity of choice. Unlike a traditional scholarship, the award is given to the recipient to use as she chooses.  Contact us for an application or you can download the application: VRA application.

Women's Opportunity Award
The Kachinas give a cash award annually to a woman who is the primary financial support of her family (children, spouse, or parents) and who is enrolled in, or has been accepted to, an undergraduate degree program or a vocational/skills training program.  Applicant must demonstrate financial need and must not be seeking a graduate degree.  Unlike a traditional scholarship, this award is given to the woman to use as she chooses.  Contact us for an application or you may download both the application with instructions and reference form: WOA application and WOA reference forms.

Ruby Award
The Kachinas give a cash award annually to a person or organization who is working to improve the lives of women or girls in our community. If you know of a worthy candidate for such and award, please contact us.

Renie Branham Woman of Courage Award
The Kachinas created this award to honor the memory of the late Renie Branham, an extraordinary club member and friend who inspired many during her life and through her battle with breast cancer.  The award is given to a courageous woman who has made a difference in the lives of others, especially women and girls, through her steadfast commitment to all facets of her daily routine while striving to overcome difficult challenges thrust upon her life.   

Club Awards
The Kachinas also fund grants to organizations focusing on improving the lives of women or girls in the West Valley.
